Inna Zhelennaya - Inna Zhelannaya "Izvorot" 2CD (2014)
Review by Andrei Bukharin (site Rolling Stone): http://www.rollingstone.ru/music/review/20996.html
"The Russian national folk-boom of recent years undeservedly left in the shadow of the singer, who in all senses is the first in this genre.
But after a five-year break, Inna Zhelannaya releases a double album, which puts everything in its place. The "Izvorot" is a powerful, trance progressive rock of the world level.
It's like authentic Russian folk songs collected in ethnographic expeditions to remote villages, would King Crimson have taken (however, Trey Gunn in one of the tracks is just playing).
Electronics, with which Inna has flirted earlier, is reduced to the necessary minimum, and preference is given to a variety of live instruments.
Separately it is worth noting the virtuosic work of the bass player Sergey Grebstel Kalachev, the fundamental element in the sound of the singer's collective. "
