World music or contemporary ethnic music is a mixture of musical traditions of different peoples of the world. Every musical tradition in the world has its own unique distinctive feature, based on the social or geographic features of this people. The combination of traditional music elements of different cultures with modern musical forms became popular in America and Europe in the second half of the 20th century and was called world music. Later the greatest popularity was received by musicians representing music of Africa, the Near East and India.
