Legends and Myths of the Altay Mountains is name of this album, in which the voices of nature and the sounds of Altay traditions sound together, exalting the greatness and beauty of this unique mountainous region.

Bolot Bayryshev – performer of traditional Altay singing Kai, as well as a master of throat singing. A musician who plays virtuoso on all national instruments: komus (harp), topshuur, shoor and many others. Bolot Bayryshev - Honored Artist of the Russian Federation and the Altai Republic, a participant in numerous festivals and music projects around the world, devotee of Russian and Altai culture.

Tandalay Modorova – no less legendary. The soloist of the national ensemble “Altai”, the winner and prize-winner of many musical competitions of ethnic music, from childhood sings the folk songs of Gorny Altai, skillfully imitates the sounds of animals and birds, plays the harp (khomus) and throat singing. Voice Tandalay has a unique range of timbres, striking the possibilities of her vocals. On our label Sketis Music album Tandalai was previously released on disc and you can still be purchased this CD by link.

Alexey Chichakov is third member of this album. Like the rest of the musicians, he masterfully masters the art of throat singing and playing the national Altay instruments. And this is not accidental, because Alexey was able to learn a lot from his skills from his teacher Bolot Bayryshev. In addition to traditional music, Alexey shows great interest in modern trends, for example, in 2018, Alexei Chichakov had an interesting album “Scythian Trace” recorded with a Moscow singer Alena Minulina (ex Folkbeat).

The album “Bolot Bayrishev, Alexey Chichakov, Tandalay Modorova (Altai Trio) - Legends and Myths of Altay Mountains” is a concert recording of famous Altai artists with an abundance of throat singing, vargan (khomus) and other traditional instruments.
